How to Check a Dog for Ringworm

Over the course of their lives, many dogs develop the fungal skin infection commonly known as ringworm. Active dogs that spend a lot of time outdoors, or dogs in contact with other pets that have ringworm, such as cats, are most likely to pick up infection. In addition to being uncomfortable and dangerous for dogs, ringworm is also known to easily transfer to people. For this reason, and for the health of your pet, it is especially important to be vigilant for signs of ringworm in your dog and seek veterinary attention to prevent the condition spreading.
